PLACES AND HOTELS description
GURA TEGHII
Gura Teghii is a mountain village located at the confluence of two rivers that form a beautiful valley (Basca Mare and Basca
Mica), cut into rocks, with sandy beaches, ideal for beach lovers.
GURA TEGHII could become "Sinaia" of Romania if a mishap had not occurred. When King Carol I decided to build the royal family
summer residence, Peles Castle, on the advice of some personalities with properties in Buzau Mountains, he started a journey of
recognition in the area. Somewhere near the destination, the king’s horse has prevented and threw him from the saddle.
Considering that the incident was a sign from heaven, the king decided to return and choose another place to build the castle.
Thus, Sinaia became the "Pearl of the Carpathians" and not GURA TEGHII, as perhaps would be worth it.
The touristic objectives in this area:
• The Salt Massif from Maruntisu
• The Church from Alunis – near the top of the hill, there is a small church, located in a mysterious symbiosis with the
rock wall behind it. Cut like a Tarkovsky film, dwelling in the village Alunis is the first point of departure to cave
settlements in the area.
• The Mud Volcanoes – Mud volcanoes of Paclele Mari – Paclele Mici area was declared in 1924 natural monument. Mud
volcanoes are one of the most exciting mixed reserves (geological and botanical) of Romania. Is a rare phenomenon. The
reservation, located 12 km from Berca, stretches over an area of about 30 hectares and consists of numerous miniature volcanoes
that erupt in the form of clay sludge. Volcanoes of Paclele Mari are located in the central part of the Berca basin, at an
altitude of 320 m.
• Ciolanu Monastery is situated at the foot of the hill with the same name, on the former hermitage. The cult building
houses a museum collection that has icons, rare books, religious objects, paintings by George Tatarascu.
• Magura Sculpture Camp - long tradition of stone carving gave birth in 1970, to outdoor sculpture camps. The exhibition,
located 30km from Buzau, near Ciolanu Monastery, has a total of 256 works of art executed in limestone from the quarry of Ciuta
• Amber Museum Colti - The building that houses the current museum was built in 1973 - 1974 and rebuilt in 1981 to 1983.
Unique in its way, the museum exhibits a variety of amber samples extracted from the fields of Counties and a rich iconographic
material.
• The area is ideal for practicing mountain biking, fishing vacation, but to organize various competitions with 4x4 cars.
Climate
Monthly average temperature ranges between -2°C in January and 22.3°C in July. Average annual rainfall is 570 mm/year.

Pension Montana 3*
The guesthouse has 20 rooms on three floors. At the first two floors there are 2 suites, 2 singles, 3 doubles, 5 with double beds, all with private bathroom and TV. The 6 rooms on the third floor are mansard-roofed (two shared bathrooms), blue and green colored, for an atmosphere full of life. Guests can eat in the restaurant or at the courtyard terrace.
BERCA
Berca Village, located at 29 km away from Buzau City, is disposed on both sides of the Buzau River.
Most important touristic objectives in the area:
The Mud Volcanoes: since 1924 declared a natural monument, the Paclele Mari – Paclele Mici area (located near village Berca) is
the only place in Europe where mud volcanoes can be seen, similar phenomena registering only in Siberia and Australia.
Ratesti Monastery, is located in Ratesti village - Berca. This monastic settlement, founded by lord Dragomir and his wife, was
initially (at the end of XVI century) hermitage of monks that was then a small wooden church dedicated to Holy Trinity.
Brancoveanu style fortress from Berca, founded in 1694 by the High Steward Mihalcea Candescu and his wife Anita Cantacuzino.

Pension Casa Matei 4*
Pension "Casa Matei" is located in Buzau Valley, in Berca village, at a distance of 16 km from the city of Buzau, in a very quiet area, with welcoming people. The guesthouse is located near the mud volcanoes of Berca and Plescoi town, where are traditionally prepared the tasty Pleşcoi sausages - European brand registered. "Casa Matei” is the only pension with four daisies assessed by the National Authority for Tourism and ANTREC, in the whole tourist area of the Buzau Valley! RASNOV
Rasnov Fortress is a pleasant citadel built in the Middle Ages by the inhabitants of Rasnov to shelter and defend in times of
invasion, her past is closely linked to the whole development of that population. Built in the XIV century, with successive
restorations, today is a place that you should really visit.
Climate
Braşov county has a moderate continental climate, dominated by the atmospheric circulation in the northwest. General features
of regional climate are heavily modified by local physical-geographical conditions.
Annual average air temperature is 7.6 º C, absolute maximum temperature being 37 º C in August. The average number of summer
days is about 50 per year. Average number of winter days is about 50 per year. Annual average humidity is 75%. Precipitations
have values of 600-700 mm/year. The wind is prevailing directions from the west and north-west and average speeds between 1.5
and 3.2 m/s.
Pension Cheile Rasnoavei 3*
Situated on an area of 8 hectares, the pension provides: 6 doubles, 3 twins and 3 junior suites (one with fireplace) equipped with private bath, central heating, TV, terrace. Other facilities: internet (at reception), restaurant, bar, game room for children, billiard, ping-pong table, living with fireplace.
Pension PANICEL 3*
The pension is located on the 73 National Road Brasov – Bran, 500m away from the National Road, on a country road accessible during the whole year. The objective is 7 km away from Bran, 9 km away from Poiana Brasov and in the nearness of the medieval fortress of Rasnov. The villa can be found inside a domain of approximately 70.000 square meters, offering a great view upon Bucegi, Piatra Craiului and Postavarul Mountains. This domain represents an ideal place away of the crowded cities. The domain has not close neighbors; it is fenced and guarded 24 h daily.
The domain has 3 lakes – two of them artificially populated with trout and a natural one populated with carps and crucians. On one of the lakes, there is an artificial island where picnics and parties can be organized in an enchanting background. GURA HUMORULUI
Gura Humorului is a town in Suceava County, Southern Bucovina, Northern Romania.
Raising Voronet monastery in 1488, on an old wooden building, Stephen the Great, Prince of Moldavia, founded a monastery
settlement whose fame has crossed the country borders. The exterior painting kept in remarkably good conditions, the church of
this monastery, as well as those from Humor and Moldovita, is a testament to the unusual decorative technique which was one of
the most exciting art events of the Romanian people past.
Climate:
Climate - temperate continental, relatively mild with clean and refreshing air.
Annual average temperature: 7°C, with minimum of -4°C to -30°C (in January) and maximum of 30°C (in July).
Precipitations: average annual rainfall is 700-900 mm, the most abundant being during summer and lowest in autumn and winter.
Casa HUMOR 4*
Situated only 3Km away from Voronet Monastery, and offering a very good access to all the other tourist attractions in the area, Casa Humor is waiting for you with open arms, in order to offer you wonderful moments in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

DANUBE DELTA - Europe’s unique natural reservation
The Danube springs from Germany and it gathers all the tributary streams from 10 countries and crosses 4 capital cities. After
covering 2860 km and before following into the Black Sea, it forms a delta. Related to the surface of Romania, the Danube Delta
is situated in the Southeastern part of the country, it has the shape of the Greek letter "delta" and it is bordered in the
Southwestern part by Dobrogea Plateau, in the Northern part by the Ukrainian border and in the Eastern part by the Black Sea.
Climate:
The Danube Delta's climate is continentally tempered, with Pontycal influences, well individualized as deltaic climate. This
climate is characterized by the most reduced nebulosity, a great number of clear sky days, long period of sun brightness and,
consequently, the greatest quantity of solar energy. The climate, as well as flora and fauna, is influenced by the area covered
with water which represents 80% of its total area.
The annual average temperature is 11°C; the average temperature in January is - 1°C; the average temperature in July is 22°C.
The precipitations have the most reduced values in our country, between 400-450 mm/year in the Western side and 300-350 mm/year
in the Eastern side. Despite the fact that it is situated next to the sea, and has many water areas inside, the delta has an
accentuated continental climate.
Pension DELTA CLUB 4*
The pension is situated in Maliuc Village on Sulina Arm, 15 miles from Tulcea.
The villa has a living room and 4 double rooms upstairs (each with private bathroom), a group of 4 apartments each with living room and bathroom downstairs and bedroom upstairs (twin or French beds in the double rooms and apartments). All rooms have TV, air conditioning and heating.
SIBIEL
On the Sibiel River, The Small Cibin, 23 km from Sibiu, sheltered like in a caldron by the feet of the mountains, there is the
Sibiel village, part of Saliste town. The village is part of the pearls that embellish the feet of the mountains on the
outskirts of Sibiu. In this area, abundant in tradition and culture, you can discover a marvelous relaxation place, at the feet
of the mountains, in the Lunca Sibielului (Sibiel’s Meadow).

Climate in Sibiu County is characterized by mild winters and cool summers. The average annual temperature is 10° C.

Bucharest has a continental climate, characterized by hot dry summers and cold winters. Winter temperatures are often below 0°C, even though they rarely drop below -10°C. In summer, the average temperature is approximately 23°C (the average for July and August), despite the fact that temperatures sometimes reach 35-40°C in mid-summer in the city centre. During spring and autumn, temperatures vary between 18-22°C, and precipitation during this time tends to be higher than in summer, with more frequent yet milder periods of rain.

Day 02 GURA HUMORULUI – SUCEAVA AND THE MONASTERIES TOUR
Buffet breakfast at pension Casa Humor 4* in Gura Humorului.
The tour begins with the Fortress of Suceava (XIII century). Lunch option in Suceava. Depart to Radauti to visit Bogdana Monastery and St Nicolae Church (the first rock chuch built in Moldavia, where 6 kings are burried). The tour continues with Putna Monastery (raised between 1466-1469, the first fortified construction of Stephan the Great, where he is burried). Stop in Marginea, a village famous for the archaeological discoveries of black pottery from the Bronze Epoch, nowadays manufactured in a local craft workshop. The next visit is to Sucevita Monastery (1582-1584), famous for the important biblical scene “ The Steps of Virtue “ and for its impressive defence walls and to Moldovita Monastery, still existing nowadays, dates back to 1532.

Day 03 GURA HUMORULUI – MONASTERIES TOUR

Day 02 SIBIEL - SIBIEL TOUR

Visit the museum of glass icons Zosim Oancea (founded in 1969 from public donations), which is the biggest glass icons museum in Europe. The museum has the most valuable collection of glass and wooden icons, pottery, furniture pieces, home-made fabrics and antique books. The tour continues with the church of Sibiel (which has the titular saint of the “Holy Trinity“ and was declared historic monument in the year 1924; it dates from the XVIIIth century - was built in 1765, and the painting and fresco were made between the years 1774-1775 by Stan Zugravul), the Monastery of Sibiel (5 km from Sibiel up into the mountain, dates from the beginning of the XVIIIth century), the crucifixes (alongside the village, there are three crucifixes built in stone and brick, that have more than 150 years, with fresco and wood crosses on the inside) and The Feudal Stronghold – Salgo (situated on Cetatea hill - it was documentarily referred to in 1383 and was part of the defence system of Transylvania’s south-east border).

Day 03 SIBIEL – SIBIU GRAND TOUR

City strengths are, besides the walls of the Citadel, the Council Tower - symbol building of Sibiu, Lies Bridge, named so because here once lovers said words of love, the Evangelical Church and the Orthodox Cathedral, but also the central markets of the city, full of history on every step.
Optional – visit the Brukenthal Palace (Appointed Governor of the Principality of Transylvania, a position that he occupied between 1777 and 1787, Samuel von Brukenthal built a Late Baroque palace in Sibiu, modeled on the palaces in the imperial capital. The Brukenthal Palace is one of the most significant Baroque buildings in Romania, its construction taking place between the years 1778 and 1788. The building was raised to serve as the Baron’s official residence and a worthy display case for his collections). Lunch option in Sibiu.
